Carlos Marques was born in Aveiro (Portugal) in 1973. He began to study Trumpet at the age of 10 at the Conservatório de Aveiro.

After studied Composition, Musical theory and History of Music in the Army Music School, he ingresses in the Portuguese Army Big Band, where, during 9 years, has trumpet player and arranger, he had developed his skill to arrange and compose. During his permanence in the army, he studied conducting with Robert Houlihan, Vasco Pearce de Azevedo and António Vassalo Lourenço. He is studying HaFaBra conducting with Alex Schillings in The Hague Royal Conservatory.
After finished his graduation in Musical Theory at Universidade de Aveiro, he’s now teaching Musical Theory and Ear Training at Conservatório da Jobra, which Orchestra he conducts.
